Paula Mercier is an award-winning Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist (CMPS) and the founder of Sojourn Mortgage Company. She has over 25 years of experience in the mortgage financing industry and has received the 5-Star Award for excellence as a Mortgage Broker 12 years in a row, which is published annually in Connecticut Magazine.

Beyond her career in the mortgage industry, Paula dedicates much of her time to her grown children and to the many charitable organizations with which she is involved.
- She has been running to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research for years.
- She also volunteers with Team in Training, an organization that raises awareness and donations for cancers of the blood.
- She is a member of the Greater Newington Charitable Society, which supports at-risk youth, our military veterans and encourages volunteerism.
Staff
Mike Mercier graduated from Conard High School in West Hartford, CT where he excelled in mathematics and had a passion for the sciences and education. He then graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Northern Vermont University in Johnson, VT.
After college, Mike wanted a chance to enjoy his hobbies of snowboarding, skiing, hiking, and rock climbing. So he moved to Alta, Utah -- a ski area at the end of a dead-end canyon with some of the best snow on earth. He worked seasonally for five years as a Front Desk Supervisor at The Alta Peruvian Lodge in Little Cottonwood Canyon, Alta, UT where he took pride in managing the front desk agents and corresponded with all other departments in the lodge to ensure all guests had a memorable experience. The lodge allowed Mike to learn how to provide people with superb customer service while giving him the opportunity to ski 100+ days a season.
In the summer of 2019, Mike began working to become a Mortgage Loan Originator and was hired in August as a retail Loan Officer at a local community bank in Salt Lake City. He helped people obtain Mortgage Loan products for their unique lifestyles as well as Tiny Home Loans. In September of 2021, he joined his mother, Paula Mercier, at her brokerage. Mike is now a Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator at Sojourn Mortgage where he continues to provide outstanding service to help people reach their individual home ownership goals.
